1. Surface Preparation:

3. Laying a Base Layer:

This layer provides a solid foundation for the pavers. Apply a 2-3 inch layer of compacted crushed gravel over the prepared concrete surface. Screed it evenly to ensure a uniform base. Compact the gravel thoroughly using a plate compactor.

4. Setting the Pavers:

Apply a thin layer of mortar or polymeric sand to the concrete base and carefully set each paver into place. Use a rubber mallet to gently tap and level the pavers.

5. Filling Joints:

Once the pavers are in place, fill the joints between them with polymeric sand. Polymeric sand hardens when exposed to water, creating a stable and weed-resistant surface. Use a dry brush to sweep the sand into the joints, ensuring it penetrates all the way to the bottom.

6. Compaction and Sealing:

Compact the pavers using a vibrating plate compactor to ensure they are firmly settled. Finally, seal the surface with a penetrating sealer to protect against stains and weathering. Allow the sealer to cure completely before using the patio.

- Allow ample time for the mortar or sand to set before applying weight to the pavers.
