How To Build A Patio Wall Bench

A patio wall bench is a great addition to any outdoor space. It provides extra seating, storage, and can even be used as a planter. Building one is a relatively easy project that can be completed in a weekend. Here are the steps on how to build a patio wall bench:

Materials:

Pressure-treated lumber (for the frame and seat)
Concrete blocks (for the base)
Patio pavers (for the top)
Mortar
Rebar
Gravel
Screws

Tools:

Circular saw
Drill
Hammer
Level
Trowel
Measuring tape

Instructions:

Prepare the site. Clear the area where you want to build the bench and level the ground. Lay down a layer of gravel to help with drainage.
Build the base. Stack the concrete blocks in a rectangular shape, making sure they are level. Leave a space in the middle for the bench seat.
Build the frame. Cut the pressure-treated lumber to the desired size for the frame. Assemble the frame using screws.
Attach the seat. Place the frame on top of the base and attach it with screws. Cut the pressure-treated lumber for the seat and screw it to the frame.
Install the pavers. Spread a thin layer of mortar on top of the seat. Place the pavers on top of the mortar, making sure they are level. Allow the mortar to dry completely.
Finish the bench. Once the mortar is dry, you can add any finishing touches, such as paint or stain. You can also add cushions or pillows for extra comfort.
